It is Patriotic Week with Bundle Buddies!

Wow!  Can you believe it is almost the 4th of July?  I found this quick and easy patriotic pennant by RNK and Floriani.  She uses burlap as a background but wouldn't it be cute if you cut up an old pair of jeans and use that instead?

Here are my son's old jeans from college.  It was funny - he safety pinned the side seams because they were falling apart!

I cut the one leg open and pressed it flat. I cut off the flat felled seam from both legs to use as the hanger strip.

Rather than use the batting as the directions stated, I just sewed the two pieces together. It was firm enough to make it work.

The fabrics included in this bundle are the following:

Here is the You Tube directions by RNK.  They will help you complete this banner in no time!

This week is our Anniversary sale so don't forget we have lots of patriotic fabric and it is 30% until July 4th!

Check back this week to find more quick and easy patriotic projects.

How to Celebrate A Birthday during the Quarantine?

How do you make a birthday a special event during the quarantine?  If you can't be with your favorite birthday person, make them something to last longer than a piece of cake.

Janine Babich Designs is one of my favorites.  Here are a few of her birthday projects.

How about a birthday bench pillow?

It's Time to Celebrate!

Yes, it is indeed.  June has always been a super busy month fo rme.  We have  birthdays in our family, and Father's Day.  So I thought it would be a great idea to feature this new collection we have in the store and make a cupcake potholder and matching kitchen towel to be used the entire month!

This Bundle Buddie includes the  new Woodland Tea Time Tossed Cupcakes by Studio E. It was  a perfect match and I paired it with our favorite Spotted by Zen Chic and the Twenty Four Seven Linen Stripes for this cute combination.

Remember the Bundle Buddie is only $9.99 and has 4 fat quarters, making it a great bargain.  The pattern is included  for the potholder and the kitchen towel with the traditional appliqué.  If you would like the embroidery, there is a code and my email to contact me for the design.

Stop by the store this week to check it out and the other new fabrics that are arriving daily.

A Sneak Peek into the Vintage Boardwalk Collection

Life the last few months has taken on a whole new meaning.  Our Class Preview theme was to feature the new Kimberbell collection called Vintage Boardwalk, but that plan was scrapped and we all began making masks.  We are still making them, sadly but now sewing in all different directions again. Today I am featuring two projects from this collection.  The beach bag features the life preserver with the added buttons and roping.  The crab is actually a dimensional accent but I appliquéd it onto a purchased apron for a quick gift idea.

This Vintage Boardwalk collection can be purchased in either a embroidery version or a sewing version.

We aslo are carrying some of the fabric collection and this bag features the cut crab and life preserver designs.

Look for more of this collection to be featured on the blog throughout the summer!

Cheers to a Nautical Week

While digging around for something else, I came across this purchase from 2016.  It was on sale at JoAnns and I was certain I was going to make something useful for the summer.  Little did I know it would be 4 years later.  But over the weekend I was able to create a quick project idea using my Silhouette Cameo and some vinyl.

The font that I used for the wine glasses is called Sail and it is a free download here.  I love the curl of the font and it cut quite nicely with the vinyl setting.

The anchor monogram was cut from the Craft n Cut software in 2016 and I really had to dig in my files to find the cut file to feature it here.  Then I finished the set with a quick fabric wine bag.Wouldn't this make a great gift idea?

Stop by tomorrow for a few more great nautical ideas.  Hint- I was working on a wallhanging all week trying to get it finished. :)

Ahoy Matey!

Welcome back to Nautical Week at Scrap & Sew.  Today I am featuring the 3 panels from the Coastal Skinnies pattern using the Whale of a Time fabrics from Studio E.

We love these Seasonal Skinnies by the Ribbon Candy Quilt Company and you can find a large selection of the patterns at the store.  You may also see  another one pop up on a Bundle Buddies post in the future.

The reason I love them is they are quick and easy and use scraps or small pueces for the appliqué.  What is so unique is that I cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo and then used the traitional 'pin stitch' or blanket stitch appliqué to complete the skinny.

I taught this class last year - it was called "To Trace or Not? that is the questions...  here are the files that I used to teach the class. What fun!

I also used my 12" x 24" mat to cut out the fabric pieces.  I seldom cut out my appliqué designs by hand and using the Silhouette Cameo is so much quicker. Stop by the store or give us a call (813-749-0888) if you would like to buy this pattern or any of the fabrics.

Bundle Buddies are here!!

Now that I am back, my mojo is back and I am stitchin' up a storm.  As I walked around the store I realized how many new bolts of fabric that are super new to me.  That's when it hit me!  if only I had some fat quarters and an idea for a quick project!  Viola! Bundle Buddies.

Since I was unable to plan for our Spring Class Preview, I have channeled my energies into the theme and project for each bundle.

Ahoy Mateys

It's Nautical Week this week at Scrap & Sew.  The bundle this week will feature four fat quarters of 'Whale of a Time' by Studio E.  The free project included in the bundle is a sailboat quilt block which I turned into a pillow for my pool area.  The best part is they are only $9.99 but they will only last one week. Next week there is a new bundle and a new project. Hmmm...I wonder what it is?

Included in the bundle are the following fabrics:

If you want to buy additional fabric, you could also stitch up this cute baby quilt pattern I found. I love the 'Sew Can She' blog as she has so many super cute project ideas.  And yes, you will probably see more than one of her projects in these bundles..

Stop back here throughout the week for some more Nautical ideas for your summer stitching.

Bon Voyage

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, not exactly but it is on the horizon.  This is my second favorite holiday and I love making all of the heart designs and of course the...
